According to research carried out by the authors of the typesetting '4 Disciplines of Execution' only 15% of employees unquestionably understood the strategic goals of the company. In other words, only 15% of employees knew the meaning of their work. Naturally, this begs the question: 'how could they expect to unzip the goal or finger good well-nigh it if they don't know what it is?'. “People exaggerate the importance of strategy and unestimate the importance of execution.” — Ed Clark In general, the researchers found that employees:Didn't know how to unzip the goal,Weren't well-spoken on what success would squint like,Didn't have easy ways of measuring results andHad no set timeline to well-constructed the goal.Accountability was flipside issue that challenged the businesses that Chris McChesney consulted with - they didn't have good systems in place. However, once they initiated peccancy structures, it became well-spoken that employees didn't mind stuff held subject and they were noticeably increasingly engaged in their work. I think that's interesting considering it's so counterintuitive.  “People play differently when they are keeping score. It’s not well-nigh you keeping score for them.” — Chris McChesney The key takeaways from this typesetting were to have: unmistakably defined, key goals; a reliable peccancy structure; and weekly 20-minute strategy meetings that would not be tumbled with day-to-day merchantry meetings. This was definitely the weightier typesetting I've read so far this year and well worth a reread.
